Janine Jennifer Pecha is a graduate of Wagner College, where she earned her Master’s Degree in Advanced Physician Studies. She began her career in 2012. Throughout her career, Janine has discovered a deep passion for urology and has dedicated her professional focus to this specialty.
Janine consistently performs above the level expected to fulfill the principal duties, responsibilities, goals, and requirements of her position. She continually delivers excellence, influencing others to uphold the highest standards of patient care. Janine has willingly served as an ambassador, collaborating with leadership and supporting key initiatives.
Recently, Janine was named the Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) Lead. In this role, she helps promote and deliver education across multiple disciplines regarding important quality metrics. Her work has brought significant recognition, and the Physician Assistant Department is extremely proud that a PA has achieved such high regard through dedication, leadership, and commitment to quality improvement. Her commitment has helped deliver exemplary care.
In addition to her clinical responsibilities, Janine is deeply involved in educational initiatives. She regularly participates in educational symposiums. Her dedication to advancing clinical education further reflects her strong work ethic and commitment to professional excellence.
Janine’s dedication to patient care extends far beyond to the work setting. On January 2, 2026, while ice skating with her family in Northern New Jersey, she heard a loud thump followed by panic among bystanders. An elderly gentleman had collapsed on the ice. Immediately relying on her ACLS and BLS training, Janine rushed to assist the patient. Without hesitation, she assessed the situation and determined that the patient had no pulse and was not breathing.
With the assistance of bystanders, 911 was called, and a automated external defibrillator (AED) was brought to the scene. Janine immediately initiated chest compressions. After several rounds of CPR, she successfully helped restore the patient’s pulse, and the patient began breathing again. Emergency Medical Services arrived shortly after return of spontaneous circulation was achieved and safely transported the patient to a local hospital for further care.
In closing, I would like to express my gratitude to all of my clinical experiences and guidance from my collogues for providing the education, training, and support that have allowed me to develop the skills necessary to deliver exceptional care both inside and outside of the hospital.
